Collaboration
To encourage an understanding of French heritage in the American Midwest from
the grass roots and beyond IF Midwest invites collaboration from 1) the general public,
2) professionals and students of all disciplines and backgrounds, 3) private
and public institutions and agencies interested in supporting a public heritage
program on the French presence in the Midwest.
From the collaboration it receives
IF Midwest develops research methods and materials which it makes available
to the public. Please get in touch if you are able
to offer:
- family origins, photos, books, and historical
documents
- interviews in English or French
- discussion of other forms of support
As a result of collaborative efforts over the years,
holdings in the UND Chester Fritz Library will grow,
to aid future generations in understanding the French
presence in the Midwest. Interviews, genealogies,
photographs, documents, and books are all important
to the success of IF Midwest which depends
on dozens of people who share themselves and
support the effort.
To become an IF Midwest Heritage Informant please
contact us. Or start now by sending us
the name of a French heritage family which has a
written genealogy or history, or the name of a person
who might be interested in being interviewed
for his/her knowledge of French language and traditions.
